Latin Roots #38: Latin Roots Rocks In Buenos Aires With A Rare Visit To Catupecu Machu's Rehearsal Studio - July 11, 2013

On our recent World Cafe Travel Adventure to Buenos Aires we learned one thing right away: Argentineans may be known for tango, but really, they like to rock! We were invited to the home studio of Catupecu Machu, one of Argentina's most popular bands.

Catupecu Machu were formed in the mid-90's by brothers Fernando and Gabriel Ruiz Diaz. Gabriel was in a very serious car accident in 2006 and remains in a coma. The band's mix of pop-metal became incredibly popular in the Latin world leading to dates on Monsters of Rock, Pepsi Rocks and other major stadium shows. Their latest album is El Mezcal Y La Cobra and today we will hear songs from it live from their tiny rehearsal space in Buenos Aires. Check out the video of Catupecu Machu performing for us!
