Josh Ritter

American singer-songwriter and guitarist Josh Ritter has forged a connection between narrator and musician. His lyrics and his performances tell stories to audiences, utilizing an Americana style unique to his music. Ritter is also an author. He published his first novel, Bright’s Passage, in 2011.

Ritter entered the music world officially in 1999 when he self-released his first album, the self-titled Josh Ritter. This was followed by the release of a second studio album in 2000, Golden Age of Radio. Ritter made three more studio albums during the early to late 2000s. His most recent album, So Runs the World Away, came out mid-2010. Ritter released six EPs during that time as well, and another one in 2011, To the Yet Unknowing World. This past February, Ritter released his eighth EP, Bringing in the Darlings.

This past September David Dye and the World Cafe took a road trip to Ithaca, NY, to record a special concert and interview with Josh Ritter in front of an audience at The State Theater.

Josh will detail some of the most interesting moments in his career thus far and offer a preview of his new album, "The Beast In Its Tracks," which is scheduled for release on March 5, 2013.
