Lady Lamb The Beekeeper’s Music Emerges From The Basement
April 16, 2013 - Aly Spaltro first captured the small but tight-knit Portland, Maine, scene, then moved across the country to Brooklyn where those original songs were re-worked for her debut.

Lady Lamb The Beekeeper is the name for the music that came to Aly Spaltro in a dream. When the Maine native emerged from the DVD store basement, where she had been experimenting on her own for a couple of years, lo and behold, people responded quite positively. After first capturing the small but tight-knit Portland, Maine, scene she moved to Brooklyn where those original songs were re-worked for her debut album Ripely Pine. It was released this February on Bada Bing Records. Aly talks today about how they are not exactly what she imagined on her own but she loves them. Aly’s slower emergence has allowed her art to grow as you will hear in our session today. She even plays a song that she loves though it didn’t make it on Ripely Pine.
