Sacred Steel Virtuoso Slide Brothers Take Us To Church

May 9, 2013 - Robert Randolph, the spectacular young pedal steel guitarist, was the first player from the Sacred Steel tradition to break out to a wider audience.

Now he is helping the elders of the tradition who inspired him by producing the first album of gospel, blues and rock by The Slide Brothers, Robert Randolph Presents The Slide Brothers. Calvin Cooke, brothers Darrick and Chuck Campbell and Aubrey Ghent are the four Slide Brothers. It’s enough to hear these pedal steel virtuosos play but they also talk about playing for the congregation in Church Of The Living God. And what it is like to take their talent onto club and concert stages.
