Dawn McCarthy And Bonnie Prince Billy Harmonize On What The (Everly) Brothers Sang

May 14, 2013 - It’s a love affair with songs and harmony itself today. Dawn and Will sing Don and Phil!

It’s quite clear from our session today that Bonnie Prince Billy (the stage name of Will Oldham) and Dawn McCarthy love singing Everly Brothers songs. The two Kentuckians find new ways to harmonize on an array of well known and downright obscure Everly Brothers songs. In our interview today we find out that Will in particular is an obsessive fan. For him it is as much about the songs as the harmonies. For Dawn McCarthy it is about the emotional connections. She came to these songs after her kids started singing along to the originals in the car.
