Exquisite Live Performances from Sam Beam and Iron & Wine

June 28, 2013 - The new Iron & Wine album "Ghost on Ghost" is the latest in the more full band releases from Sam Beam that started with "The Shepherd’s Dog."

Beam’s first Iron & Wine album in 2002 was very stripped down, essentially his demo tapes that he had sent to Jonathan Poneman at Sub Pop Records who released them as they were. A lo-fi artist was born. Ideas have been added along the way and so has instrumentation. Along with today’s very special performances we’ll talk about his affinity for the sounds of words in his lyrics on Ghost on Ghost, an album that took him several years to write. Originally from South Carolina, Beam now lives in Texas with his wife and five daughters. He’ll discuss the effect of all that female energy in his house!
