Pokey plays vital roots music that includes bluegrass, western swing, country blues and more. Call it ld-timey, call it throwback, this musician from the mid-west embraces it fully. Pokey paid his dues with a “No gig is too small” attitude and has gradually built a devoted following. The self-titled new album is Pokey’s first on Jack White’s Third Man Records and it was produced by Ketch Secor from Old Crow Medicine Show.
