The Head And The Heart’s Magnificent Second Album Let’s Be Still And A Video Of “Shake”
December 6, 2013 - The Head and the Heart recently released their second disc Let's Be Still and join us today with live performances recorded in front of an audience at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
The Seattle-based band's very successful debut was recorded on their own and later reissued by Sub Pop records. Slowly the band developed a following, joining fellow North Westerners Fleet Foxes in leading the alt-folk charge. We have a video of the band performing the song “Shake” from their World Cafe set and the Cafe's Michaela Majoun talks with lead singer Jonathan Russell. Russell gets very introspective in the interview discussing what the band writes about; he wasn’t joking when he commented that he is “terrible at small talk… I just get right to the heavy things and don’t see the point in not discussing things like that.”
