Bill Callahan’s Deep And Deceptively Simple Dream River Played Live

Everybody who loves indie singer-songwriter Bill Callahan’s music has a favorite among his solo albums and the one’s he made before under the name Smog.
That favorite may well be the first one they heard! Bill’s music has been remarkably consistent and deeply meaningful making every word count. His latest album Deep River is a particularly good example. Today we hear songs from that record played in a relaxed session with the band that made it. Bill also talks about recording and how each record begins with a concept and then he writes the songs to flesh it out. As you will hear he seems happy living in Austin, Texas. We are making this World Cafe version of the song “Javelin Unlanding” available for a free download, enjoy!
