Portland Cello Project Expands What You Thought A Cello Could Play And What You Thought Was Holiday Music

December 24, 2013 - We are so lucky to have the Portland Cello Project to play live for us right after their Annual Holday Sweater Spectacular, a major seasonal event in their home town. The group was founded in 2006 and are dedicated to expanding the role of the cello. To that end they have done everything from perform on Prairie Home Companion to tour with Buckethead. Their new EP is called Winter (The Best Nine Months Of The Year) and today we will hear a wide variety of music from it including a wonderful version of Fleet Foxes’ “White Winter Hymnal.”
