Geographer

Geographer's glittery, electronic pop rock has been winning over fans on the west coast for years.  The trio formed in 2008, released their first full-length that August, and began playing the Bay Area.

Their earnest, sonically sugar-coated songs earned the attention of Spin Magazine and tours with artists ranging from Stars, Asobi Seksu and Voxtrot to Atlas Sound, Cults, and Foster the People.  Features in MTV and network shows soon followed.  The trio followed up its first album, "Innocent Ghosts" with an EP and a single in 2010.  Now, four years after their debut album, Geographers second full-length is worth the wait.

"Myths" bursts with the same unpredictable, intellectual creativity that made the group's 2010 single "Kites" an internet sensation.  This album continues Geographer's tradition of arranging cascading electronic effects around simple no-nonsense rock compositions.  Hear "Verona", "Blinders", "The Myth of Youth" and "The Boulder" from Geographer on today's episode of World Cafe.
