The legendary Steve Miller is our guest today on this Vintage Cafe. The guitarist and songwriter has had an enormously successful career. The group have journeyed from songs like “Livin’ In The U.S.A” from the original Steve Miller Band, that included Boz Scaggs, through enormously popular radio hits like “Jet Airliner” and “Rock ‘N Me.” Today we will hear live versions of “The Joker,” “Fly Like An Eagle” and “Abracadabra’ that defined FM rock radio in the 70s. At the time of this interview in 2011 Steve hadn’t felt the need to record in 17 years because of the steady income from his catalog and touring. In this session Steve will talk about the early influence of guitarist Les Paul, the original multi-tracker, and Texas guitar icon T Bone Walker who was actually a guest in the Miller household when Steve was growing up. In 2011 Miller had recently released his first albums of new material in 17 years; two blues-inspired discs recorded at the same time. All about the blues, the Seventies and more with Steve Miller and the full band live in our studio.
