James Cotton

Mississippi Blues Project artist James Cotton grew up playing the blues, singing and carrying his legendary tunes on his harmonica. He joined Muddy Waters as his harmonica player back in 1954 - a gig winning the group a Grammy in 1977 - and though the two have since parted ways, Cotton has continued to enthrall audiences with his bluesy harmonica, distinctive voice, and gift for songwriting.
