Bono On The Social Media “Kerfuffle” Surrounding New U2 Album

The physical release of U2’s new album Songs of Innocence with bonus tracks is today. That’s the album that is probably already in your iTunes account thanks to a deal the band made with Apple. The unorthodox launch of the Irish superstar band’s first album since 2009 caused what Bono refers to as a social media “kerfuffle” with everyone weighing in pro and con. Bono takes to the media of radio today and joins us from Dublin via the telephone. He wants get back to talking music and we will. He will present a number of the new songs from the album that is based lyrically on the band’s youth in Dublin. We will hear the story of “Raised By Wolves” a new song inspired by sectarian violence near where Bono lived and others. We’ll also quiz Bono more about his hometown.
