Our popular Latin Roots Essentials series continues today as we invite record producer Aaron Luis Levinson back to pick some of the essential Latin Jazz recordings and give us some perspective. Aaron had a tough time limiting his picks so he went with the roots of the genre and plays a version of the classic “Caravan” by Duke Ellington. The song was written by trombonist Juan Tizol from Puerto Rico and is one of the most enduring melodies in jazz, Latin or otherwise. Levinson has also put together a Latin Jazz Spotify playlist for further exploration.
