As much as we would like it to, both parts of a session don’t always come together as they do today with Hiss Golden Messenger. Sometimes the performance shines and the interview is lackluster. Or vice versa. Today's session surrounding the music on Hiss Golden Messenger's new album The Lateness of Dancers has it all. M.C. Taylor is Hiss Golden Messenger working with his long time musical partner Scott Hirsch. Originally from California Michael (MC) moved to North Carolina to study folklore and has stayed. We'll hear how studying folklore at UNC affected his musical life and some gorgeous performances of songs from The Lateness of Dancers, the band’s first album on Merge Records.
