CJ Chenier and The Red Hot Louisiana Band!
When the king of zydeco Clifton Chenier died in 1989, his son CJ Chenier, already a part of the Red Hot Louisiana Band, shouldered the accordion and took over the band. He has led ever since. This past July at the XPoNential Music Festival in Philadelphia we talked with CJ about growing up in zydeco. Plus we recorded the band on stage. CJ and company are among the very best zydeco bands playing today. Enjoy their set and our conversation as part of our Sense of Place visit to Lafayette..
