Peter Matthew Bauer spent 14 years playing bass and keyboards with The Walkmen. When the band called it quits last year he began exercising muscles he hadn't been using with the indie rock band: he began playing guitar, singing and most importantly writing songs. He is the second member of The Walkmen to make a post band visit to the Cafe, Peter's good friend lead singer Hamilton Leithauser was the first. Peter's debut Liberation came out last June and is filled with songs that don't really mirror what he did with The Walkmen in many ways. It's a very upbeat session.
