Jason Isbell at World Cafe Live

Jason Isbell joins us for the XPN Free at Noon show at World Cafe Live.
A co-production of WXPN and NPR Music.

Jason Isbell After a successful six years of recording and performing, former Drive-By Tuckers guitarist and songwriter, Jason Isbell, left the rock band to explore his own musical idenity. He released his first solo album "Sirens of the Ditch" in 2007, revealing a softer southern blues mixed with southern and country-rock. Isbell's transformation from guitarist to lone frontman shines on his new album Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. The album is a
warm and gritty country-soul album that not only displays confident writing, but also years of hard work and collaboration. The group swings between heavy percussion, vintage soul and country with ease. In support of this month's release, the group has added a new batch of tour dates for March and April.
