Our World Cafe Sense of Place visit to LA continues today with a bit more of a funky West Coast vibe. Our guests are the powerful new Latin funk band Jungle Fire whose full length Tropicoso is out on Nacional records. This band has a special sound encompassing a variety of Latin styles along with funk and what makes this band really special is the addition of Afro-beat from Nigeria. Three percussionists keep things moving. We recorded the band on our trip to LA at the studios of our affiliate KCSN radio.
