Dominique Pinto is originally from Brazil but travelled with her father at an early age to Paris studying classical cello. She acquired her diminutive nickname as the youngest in her school. Later Dom went to Buenos Aires for further private study. Along the way she starting writing songs and playing pop music, backing artists such as actress Jane Birkin.
