James Taylor

With Before This World James Taylor Is Back In The Songwriting Game After 13 Years Away

James Taylor put out his first album on Apple Records in 1968. He wrote about halcyon days in North Carolina contrasted with songs about the mental hospital and heroin addiction. Those songs and the ones on the eponymous 1970 album that followed solidified a generational love affair with James’ music and with singer-songwriters in general. Well, now, some 13 years since he last put out an album of his own songs, JT is writing again. His new album, For This World, presents James living a calmer life and yet he still gets riled up about The Red Sox. We’ll talk and listen to the album together.
