Kishi Bashi

A String Quartet Enhances The Romantic Vision of Kishi Bashi

Kishi Bashi is kind of an otherworldly musical experience. Today we are going to partake of a particularly wonderful version of Kishi Bashi as a string quartet has joined K Ishibashi to translate the arrangement he would often play solo, looping his parts into complex arrangements. K Ishibashi is a violinist, arranger and songwriter who has worked in the past with Regina Spektor and Of Montreal and been part of the band Jupiter One. His own music is quite romantic and expansive. We’ll hear music from his two solo albums including his latest Lighght plus a cover. I am pretty sure you will come away a fan. Originally aired March, 10th 2015.
