Latin Roots: Norteno For The Fourth Of July Weekend

As we head toward the Fourth of July weekend we decided we wanted a style of Latin music for our Latin Roots presentation that had it's beginnings at least somewhat here in the US. The style is Norteno. Music that comes from the border between the US and Mexico and is equally popular on either side of the border. We have asked Ernesto Lechner, journalist and co-host of The Latin Alternative to lead us through the corridos and other music of the still evolving Norteno style.
