The Hardest Working Guitarist Warren Haynes Makes His Acoustic Album With Railroad Earth

Warren Haynes is best known for leading the band Gov't Mule as well as being the guitarist, along with Derek Trucks, in the final line-up of The Allman Brothers Band who recently put their career to bed with a final series of concerts at The Beacon Theater in New York City. Mean time he has always been making solo albums in a variety of different styles. His last one, 2011’s Man In Motion, was his soul album. Now comes Ashes and Dust recorded with the progressive bluegrass band Railroad Earth, it’s his acoustic album. Warren likes to jam and he stretches out today in this set recorded on stage at World Cafe Live. The songs include a Fleetwood Mac cover and a song Warren has been playing live for a while co-written with Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. We’ll talk with the affable Haynes about The Allmans, The Grateful Dead’s Fare The Well concerts and more.
