Carly Simon - Vintage

What Secrets Do We Learn From Carly Simon?
Our Vintage Cafe today is with Carly Simon who was a huge star in the 70's. Songs like "Anticipation," "That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be" and especially "You're So Vain" were big hits. The latter still inspires speculation today about it’s subject. Carly married and divorced James Taylor and the two had a son, Ben, and a daughter, Sally, who also went on to make music. Back in 2008 when we recorded this session, which features a live performance on stage at World Cafe Live, she had just released her first album in 8 years called This Kind Of Love. We had an extended conversation where we may not find out definitively who “You’re So Vain” is about, but we do learn what curly haired pop-star helped her overcome her legendary stage fright.
