Foals Artist To Watch - September 2015

September’s ATW is the British rock band, Foals.

Their new album is out this Friday, called What Went Down. One of the songs from the album is our Gotta Hear Song of Week this week; “A Knife In The Ocean."

Foals are one of the UK’s most popular bands. While they’ve got their share of fans in the States, they’ve struggled however, to build the huge following they’ve truly deserved. That’s all about to change with the release of this new album. Foals play guitar driven rock that nods to prog-rock, with hooks in the past to the Stone Roses, Radiohead and Ride and lead singer Yannis Philippakis has a muscular, expansive voice. The new album is a collection of dynamic, sweeping songs.
