I was in chorus in high school and sometimes we got to sing some great music. But it was never as cool as being in The Silver Lake Chorus. Silver Lake, California is a popular spot among musicians and it is also where the chorus is based. The chorus’ repertoire consists of music written for them by the likes of Aimee Mann, Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie and even Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. You know, their neighbors. They join us to sing live in Pilgrim Church where they rehearse. We will talk with chorus director Mikey Wells and his co-arranger Heather Ogilvy about how this all happened and their joy in singing.
