The Latin Soul of Puerto Rico’s Calma Carmona

Our Latin Roots segment today is a live one as we introduce a soulful Puerto Rican singer Calma Carmona. She brought her full band up from San Juan to perform live in our studio. Calma has an eclectic set of influences ranging from Thelonoius Monk and Santana to PJ Harvey and the Latin artist La Lupe. She has an EP out called There's No Other Girl that she released in 2013. Good things have been happening for her including opening for Beyonce in Puerto Rico. We will hear a set including some new material from an album that will see the light when she thinks it’s ready!
