Sense Of Place Asheville: River Whyless

The folk-rock band draws inspiration from its hometown's lovely natural setting.
As lovely as Asheville, N.C.'s natural surroundings are, it's not surprising that the city's environment inspires its artists. That's certainly the case with River Whyless, an Asheville folk-rock band made up of Ryan O'Keefe (guitars, vocals), Halli Anderson (violin, vocals), Alex McWalters (drums, percussion) and Daniel Shearin (bass, vocals, harmonium, cello, banjo). Meticulous arrangements, strong singers and writers, and a gorgeous sound are at the heart of this band, which released a self-titled EP in January 2015 and is currently working on a new album.
