Kyle Craft - September 2016

September’s Artist To Watch is Kyle Craft

He performed at our Free At Noon.
We’ve been playing the baroque-ish, Broadway-esque glam jam, “Eye of the Hurricane” from Craft’s Sub Pop debut, Dolls Of Highland. Those of us who saw him play FAN and his sold out show at Boot & Saddle were impressed with his live performance. Craft was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and after spending his younger years there he moved to Portland where he now calls home. He’s a compelling storyteller, a boisterous, emotive and not-easy-to-forget singer, and comes off as a cross between Bat Out Of Hell-era Meatloaf, Ziggy-era Bowie, with lots of theatricality.
