Joseph - October 2016

October’s Artist To Watch is The Joseph

Some of you might have caught the sister trio from Portland, called Joseph.at the Non-Comm in May.

None of the sisters are named Joseph. They are Allison, Meegan, and Natalie Closner, and they named their band after the Oregon town where their grandfather once lived. Natalie was the sister most responsible for the group’s formation and after she began writing and performing her other sisters joined the band.

They recently released their ATO debut, I’m alone, No You’re Not, produced by Mike Mogis (of Bright Eyes). The album is gorgeous, and their singing is revelatory. Joseph were also recently onNPR's World Cafe. Listen to their session and interview and watch a VuHaus video of their song “White Flag.”
