Rod Stewart’s Best Songs Are the Ones He Writes Himself!

June 21, 2013 - Rod Stewart has little to prove as a rock star. He has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame twice, once solo and once with The Faces. Of late he has had enormous success with a series of albums singing other people’s songs including standards of The Great American Songbook.

As you’ll hear today, after an industry exec told him to stop writing he did, but with the new album Time he has regained his confidence. He also wrote an autobiography last year that he says inspired him to write the new songs. If you are a fan of "Maggie May," "You Wear It Well," "Cut Across Shorty" et al that is good news as Rod joins us to sing the new songs live and talk with the Cafe’s Michaela Majoun.

This session originally aired May 10, 2013.
