Laura Stevenson

Singer Songwriter Laura Stevenson Continues To Confront Life’s Terrifying Questions

May 13, 2013 - Sometimes dark (yet often humorous!) Long Island raised Laura Stevenson describes herself as an “unfunny Woody Allen.”

You know, obsessed with death and doubt. On her third album Wheel she does it so well that she even makes it sound downright jaunty. She came to her more folkie leanings from a punk rock start as well as from a musical family; her grandfather, choral director Harry Simeone was responsible for the classic “Little Drummer Boy.” We credit her record label Don Giovanni with bringing Laura and recent World Cafe: Next artist Waxahatchee to the fore. Dig beneath the pleasing exterior of the songs featured from Laura Stevenson.
