Low Cut Connie Bring Their Own Upright Piano And Dive Bar Esthetic

June 11, 2013 - Low Cut Connie are a band based in Philadelphia fronted by piano player Adam Weiner.

Adam is a born ham. An entertainer who will pound his piano and you into submission. Low Cut Connie began when Adam and his partner Dan Finnemore from Birmingham, England decided to cast their lot in together. Their first album released on their own, Get Out The Lotion, garnered raves from Robert Christgau and from Ken Tucker at Fresh Air. In this session of World Cafe they play music from last year’s Call Me Sylvia and tell the tale of bonding in a stuck freight elevator.
