Elvis Costello And Questlove's Mutual Admiration Leads To New Collaboration Wise Up Ghost

September 24, 2013 - Last week Elvis Costello and The Roots unveiled their collaboration Wise Up Ghost that they have been working on in semi-secrecy for a while.
Today we talk with Elvis Costello and Roots drummer Ahmir Questlove Thompson about how they met, and as they put it, how they used hip-hop techniques to make a non-hip hop album.

Both artists thrive as collaborators. Quest has worked with D’Angelo, Jay Z and even Eminem among others. The Roots have been the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon since its premier in 2009.

Elvis Costello has been stretching musical boundaries for over 35 years and has worked with everyone from Paul McCartney and Burt Bacharach to classical singer Anne Sofie Von Otter among many others.
