KT Tunstall

July 10, 2013 - In 2004 KT Tunstall had a career break through when she performed her song “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” on the British TV show Later… with Jools Holland. Since that time she has continued to find success with her music, but the last few years have been rough in terms of her personal life.
Tunstall and her husband divorced while at the same time she faced her father’s death. The hard times come through on her new disc called Invisible Empire/Crescent Moon, but as she’ll explain, some of the songs were premonitions of what was to come rather than reflections back on what had happened. And Sallie Ford and The Sound Outside. The North Carolina native moved to Portland in 2006 and there she found her musical home. In an interview with the Cafe’s Michaela Majoun, she talks about what makes the city so unique and plays songs from her band’s second album Untamed Beast. That and more this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
