Rosanne Cash

Rosanne Cash’s Musical Journey Follows Rivers and Threads

January 10, 2014 - Two things have come together for Rosanne Cash: Her deepening understanding of her place in embracing her father Johnny Cash’s legacy and her desire to only make albums that expand on a theme.

Her last three albums, starting with Black Cadillac and including both her covers album The List and the new The River and The Thread, are a trilogy on the subject of her relationship with her father as daughter and as fellow artist. The new album was inspired by a series of journeys she and her husband John Leventhal took through Johnny Cash’s South. Those trips lead to these incredible new songs we will hear today.

There is conversation with John and Rosanne and we will hear full band performances from the stage of World Cafe Live that rival those on the new album that is out next week.
