Rosanne Cash

Rosanne Cash Image by: Clay Patrick McBride
Janurary 23, 2014 - This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, Rosanne Cash joins host David Dye in the studio. Rosanne Cash just released a brand new album The River & the Thread. It is her third record in a trio of discs inspired by life her father Johnny Cash. While in the past she may have shied away from her father’s renown, she has come to embrace it since his death in 2003, first putting out 2006’s Black Cadillac and then 2009’s The List.
The new album takes Rosanne on a set of journeys through the South with her husband and producer John Leventhal. The pair returned to her father’s childhood home, visited her father’s close friend and bandmate Marshall Grant, and drove from Memphis to New Orleans. They discuss the resulting songs, and the travels that translated to music rich with emotion. That’s this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
