Paul Franklin, the multi-instrumentalist with more than 500 albums to his credit, and singer Vince Gill, who has earned 20 Grammy awards, more than any other country artist, over the course of 20 albums, have come together to release Bakersfield. The record is a tribute to Bakersfield country pioneers Buck Owens and Merle Haggard, who created the Bakersfield sound in the 1960s, a rougher style of country in contrast to the more polished Nashville sound.
