Jessica Lea Mayfield

Big Changes For Ohio Blues/Punk Artist Jessica Lea Mayfield - Grown Up & Rocking

June 4, 2014 - Jessica Lea Mayfield was such an eye-opening discovery when we first heard her first album With Blasphemy So Heartfelt in 2008. Dan Auerbach (of The Black Keys) produced it and the follow-up Tell Me. She was almost an Akron, Ohio neighbor when Auerbach discovered her through the EP she had released the year before at the age of 15 under the name Chittlin. Her wise-beyond-her-years blues soaked voice had a simple power. We catch up with her today, at the age of 24, with a vastly different sound on the new album Make My Head Sing that she produced herself. It’s punky, rocky and far noisier. She straps on her guitar with her three piece band for our set today.
