Laura Marling on Conversations from the World Cafe

December 6, 2013 - This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, Laura Marling joins host David Dye. 23 year old Laura Marling has released four albums in the 5 years she has been making records, all excellent, haunting examples of London’s new folk movement.
Three of her discs have been nominated for the prestigious British music award, the Mercury Prize: her debut, her second album, and her latest called Once I Was an Eagle. She talks about the confusion around whether her songs come directly from her own experiences. Plus, Ethan Johns. The award winning British producer worked on Marling’s latest disc. He has also just put out a record of his own called If Not Now Then When? He shares what it was like working with his father, Glyn Johns, the legendary Rolling Stones producer. That and more this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
