The Head and the Heart

The Head and the Heart Image by: Curtis Wayne Millard
Janurary 17, 2014 - This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, The Head and the Heart stop by the studio. The Head and the Heart formed in Seattle four years ago, coming together over a series of open mic nights. Signed by SubPop, the band released their self titled debut in 2011.

Recently they released their second disc called Let’s Be Still. Band cofounder Jonathan Russell stopped by the studio to talk with the Cafe’s Michaela Majoun after a concert at World Cafe Live – he gets very introspective as he shares some stories about the new album and working with fellow founding bandmate Josiah Johnson. Plus, Typhoon. Singer Kyle Morton talks about the break that the 11 piece band took before creating some of their strongest work ever, and how his health issues have continued to shape his lyrics. Typhoon’s latest album is called White Lighter. That and more this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
