Although popular in Europe, here in the USA they were never huge, instead influencing the bands that later became alternative rock stars in the 90s. In 2004 they decided to reunite, at first only planning a brief return. But due to popular demand they have just kept playing. Since September The Pixies have also put out three EPs of new material and at the end of April they will be releasing their first album in 23 years, Indy Cindy.
