St. Vincent

April 4, 2014 - This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, St Vincent joins host David Dye.
St Vincent began her music career as a member of Polyphonic Spree and on tour with Sufjan Stevens. In 2006 she formed her own group, releasing her debut Marry Me a year later. Over her next two discs, 2009’s Actor and 2011’s Strange Mercy, her career took off. She spent the end of 2012 and most of 2013 collaborating with David Byrne on the Love This Giant album and the pair’s subsequent tour. The experience of working with Byrne has influenced her new self titled disc, as she’ll explain in our interview. Plus she'll tell us the surprising places songs came from: including an Ambien induced hallucination and from books - the writer Lorrie Moore is a favorite. That’s this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
