Jonatha Brooke

April 18, 2014 - This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, Jonatha Brooke joins host David Dye in the studio.
Jonatha Brooke honed her songwriting skills over the last 25 years, first performing in the duo The Story and then out on her own. Her new project, My Mother Has 4 Noses, is more ambitious than any she has ever taken on before. Acting and singing, she tells the story of caring for her mother at the end of her life. My Mother Has 4 Noses is a one woman play that has been at the Duke Theater on 42nd Street in New York City since February. In the studio she shares stories from the emotional years she spent with her mom and how it all came together in the new work. Plus, Lake Street Dive. On YouTube the band has had over 1.75 million views of their cover of the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back”. They perform it live and talk about moving from being jazz conservatory students to being a much buzzed about band. That and more this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
