Singer Rachael Price, drummer Mike Calabrese, bassist Bridget Kearney, and trumpet-playing guitarist Mike Olson met and formed Lake Street Dive at Boston's New England Conservatory, and has since come along way. They find themselves on the cusp of stardom, describing themselves as a "pop-soul juggernaut", with varied influences ranging from British Invasion Rock ("Bobby Tanqueray") to horn-drivin R&B; it is clear that Lake Street Dive is destined for greatness.

April 2014 CD of the Month - WXPN Artist To Watch, Lake Street Dive, released their album, Bad Self Portraits. Recent appearances on The Colbert Report, Letterman, and a critically acclaimed performance at the “Another Day/Another Time” concert celebrating the music of Inside Llewyn Davis concert last September at New York’s Town Hall has set this band into a rising star trajectory.

Simply put, Lake Street Dive are blowing up. Last month David Dye chose them as a World Cafe Next artist and they recently recorded a session for an upcoming Cafe. They play Union Transfer on April 2nd.

January 20, 2014 - Time for a new World Cafe: Next artist and we can ignore the buzz about Lake Street Dive no longer. The quartet that originally formed in Boston out of The New England Conservatory combines great instrumental virtuosity with a love of singing pop and roots influenced music with jazzy flair.
