October 18, 2013 - This week on Conversations from the World Cafe, Neko Case joins host David Dye in the studio. Neko Case has had a long-running role in the Canadian group The New Pornographers. She also has had a very successful solo career.
Her last two discs in particular, 2006’s Fox Confessor Brings the Flood and 2009’s Middle Cyclone, proved to be major turning points. Recently the red haired singer put out a new disc The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You. Leading up to the new album, she faced a period of depression. And in the press coverage of the new record, that has seemingly become almost the sole focus. Case talks about how she feels about this reaction to her new work and she tackles an unusual set of questions about a very wide range of topics. Plus, Pokey LaFarge. Hear the old time sound that earned this smart songwriter the attention of Jack White. He has just released his self titled debut on White’s Third Man Records. That and more this week on Conversations from the World Cafe!
